The Flamingo and John Cleese were shot separately against different bluescreens. They were composited together over a background, and then they were manipulated to intereact together, the flamingo grabs a peanut out of John's hand.

The screen was a bluecreen, John Cleese was keyed, and then the screen was turned into a physically-scrolling canvas, portraying a landscape scene behind him.

Shot was camera-tracked and stabalized. The building was then changed as though it was just hit by the wrecking ball, with debree falling off. The wrecking ball and crane were CG elements. The camera motion was then reapplied.
